About the author – Dr. Mark Bar-Gomel

Dr. Mark Bar-Gomel  graduated from the Nancy-University,in Lorraine, France, and completed post-graduate medical education in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology/Hepatology at the University of Utah. He has been involved in Transplant Hepatology in Utah since 1987. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Transplant Hepatology.

His main clinical and research interests include the management of chronic viral hepatitis, non-alcoholic liver disease and liver transplantation. He has published articles on these and other topics.

Dr. Bar-Gomel recently joined the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the University of Utah School of Medicine as Assistant Professor of Medicine where he primarily functions in Transplant Hepatology.

At the age of 29, Dr. Bar-Gomel got married to Sarah, and had two sons and a daughter.
